PPI Training Manager
Rob Walker joined the United States Marine Corps in 1988 as an aircraft mechanic for the KC/C-130. He has an extensive maintenance background specializing in 54H60 propellers and T-56 power plants. Rob has a wide range of experience from flight line operations and maintenance, system and component troubleshooting, on aircraft repairs, and in the shop maintenance. During his tenure he became a quality assurance inspector/manager for the 54H60 propellers and T-56 power plants.
In 1996 Rob continued his development in aviation and became a qualified KC/C-130 Flight Engineer and went on to become a Flight Engineer instructor and simulator instructor. He has attained over 10,000 flight hours and held qualifications as High/Low power Turn-up and Taxi pilot designations. As an instructor he has taught countless students on component location, theory of operation, maintenance and repairs, and troubleshooting. Rob is considered to be an expert on C-130 aircraft systems and an authority on 54H60 propellers and T-56 power plant troubleshooting.
Rob concluded his military career with the United States Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron as the Flight Engineer aboard the C-130 “Fat Albert”. While at the Blue Angels he performed over 100 Jet Assisted Take-Offs (JATO) during air shows demonstrating the dynamic capabilities of the C-130.
In April of 2008 Rob retired from the Marine Corps with twenty years of hands-on aviation maintenance and flight operations experience. Rob joined Pacific Propeller International LLC in 2009 as the Training Manager. He has developed a new training series for the 54H60 propeller systems and is actively developing a new curriculum for the other propeller systems that PPI supports.
